will there be a version of Pimlico Dates that runs under Maemo Chinook?

Does Dates on Maemo support subscription to iCal-calendars like the
desktop-linux version?

Yes. But more likely it will be a new version based on the Jana library.

Remote iCal calendars are certainly possible in EDS.
