Using conduit to sync data?

Hi,
Conduit is a program for syncing data between different sources and
computers, I've been working on packaging this for Maemo and have got
the contact syncing working. This lets you sync your contacts with
evolution on another computer or with gmail.

Was thinking about the calendering next, would this be a good fit with
the pimlico dates application?

Oh waou !!
This sounds, looks and smells great !

Personnaly, I use dates, tasks and contacts from Pimlico on my OpenMoko
freerunner running hackable:1 (debian based) , and it is very hard to keep
them sync 2ways. Actually I gave up and only sync one way PC --> freerunner.
I only edit on my PC, which is not satisfaying with a mobile smartphone.

I would love to see this happening

Thanks for sharing your work
I think you could probably find very interested people on the openmoko
community mailing list (and why not helpers...)

Conduit supports the Evolution Data Server calendar as a source, so
syncing will (well, should) just work.

Hi

I would like to know if Conduit could be ported to Openmoko (arm proc) ? If
so, I am sure you will find a lot of people interesting to compile and
package it in the openmoko community ?

Should I do some advertising on the Openmoko mailing lists ?

I don't know much about openmoko, conduit is written in python and
uses goocanvas to draw the UI.

Perhaps I'll try syncing to dates on maemo first.

I must work, since python is installed on every distribution, and you can
find some goocanvas librairies too.
So since it is written in python, there is no need to compile it ? I can try
it on my openmoko ?

Thanks in advance

You could try but you might be missing some dependencies. Some of the
python dependencies require a compiler to build.

As I understand it dates is based on evolution backend so it shouldn't
be too hard to get it workling.
